Financing provided by the EIB in Algeria

FEMIP is the key player in the economic and financial partnership between Europe and the Mediterranean, providing almost EUR 6 billion of financing between October 2002 and December 2006.

The EIB has been active in Algeria since 1980 and has provided finance totalling EUR 2.2 billion, principally in favour of the public sector. The Bank has financed major infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy, transport, water and industrial sectors.
