EIB issues in CZK

The EIB first issued CZK bonds in 1996. EIB issuance has since then expanded considerably to reach a total volume of CZK 44 billion by end 2007. A major step in this process was the establishment of the EIB's CZK 30 billion Debt Issuance Programme in 1998. It has enabled the Bank to access the domestic CZK bond market and to become firmly established as the leading CZK issuer after the Czech Republic. The Bank's plain vanilla CZK issues are actively traded in the secondary market, but EIB has also issued in structured format. The programme was further increased by CZK 50 billion to CZK 80 billion in November 2003.

The EIB will continue to support the development of the Czech domestic bond market by remaining responsive to investor demand for AAA rated debt denominated in CZK.
