EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

  • 1968 - Licenciatura (5 years Degree) in Economics by the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, Portugal
  • 1973 - Revisor Oficial de Contas ("Chartered Auditor") - Ordem dos Revisores Oficias de Contas

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 1961 - Began working at an insurance company, until 1974.
  • 1968 to date - Lecturer and after Assistant Professor, until 2005, at the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, Portugal (under-graduate, post-graduate and masters' courses in Auditing and Accounting). Participates currently in post-graduate courses.
  • 1974 to date - Worked and is currently working as auditor of several companies and public entities, from his personal professional office, as member of audit committees or equivalent boards.
  • 1974 to date - Consulting activities in financial, accountant and tax areas, with special emphasis on investments, company closings, merger and acquisitions and associated matters, from his personal office. Participates currently in several audit committees or equivalent boards, not as a statutory auditor.
  • 1975 to date - Member of the Portuguese Accounting Standards Board, in representation of the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, Portugal.
  • 1989 to date - Member of the Privatisations' Monitoring Commission.

WORK UNDERTAKEN IN PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

Is a Member of the Auditing Professional Order, the Economist Professional Order and the Chamber of Chartered Accountants.

At the Auditing Professional Order is currently Vice President of the Management Committee and Director of the North Regional Sector, after have been member of the Management Committee, the High Committee and the Disciplinary Committee, as well the Coordinator of the Financial Entities' Technical Committee and member of the training committee and the examination jury.

At the Economists Professional Order was member of the Secretariat of the North Regional Delegation.

Is a Member of some professional associations - financial analysis and professors.
