In parallel with its lending activity in the education sector, the Bank has developed the EIB-Universities Research Action to channel its institutional support to higher education and academic research.
This Action is designed to respond in a consistent way to requests from European universities for financial assistance in particular but also for Research Action, which is supervised by the EIB Universities Committee (chaired by the President of the Bank) and consists of the three programmes: EIBURS, STARBEI and EIB University Networks.
