The EIB attaches great importance to engaging with civil society and building cooperative relations with its representatives.
A key feature of institutional cooperation is the promotion of a consistent approach between the EIB and the various multilateral development banks and IFIs. Cooperation is an integral part of the EIB’s activities, ranging from dialogue on institutional matters to cooperation on operational lending and co-financing, to mutual consultation on horizontal topics and thematic issues.
A number of Memoranda of Understanding have facilitated cooperation between the Bank and other IFIs, gradually covering more regions outside the EU. Regular meetings are held at senior management and field level and the EIB is also seeking to increase the number of projects that are appraised and co-financed jointly with other IFIs.
